This is why I prioritize getting a good night’s sleep as a strategy to maintain my overall health and well-being.

    For the past several years, about six or more, I’ve struggled with sleep due to chronic pain. Each night, I manage just about three hours of sleep, sometimes four if I’m fortunate. It’s not for lack of trying; my mind, body, and spirit simply refuse to drift off to sleep. Despite my efforts—early bedtimes, herbal teas, prescribed sleeping pills, and soothing background noises—nothing seems to work. The lack of rest is palpable in my mornings and throughout my days. Night after night, I toss and turn, searching in vain for a position that will bring me peace.

    These sleepless nights are largely tied to severe health issues that I hesitate to discuss openly. It’s not that I don’t want to share, but the topic is heavy and discussing it feels like hosting a pity party—a role that doesn’t suit me. Instead, I find solace in leaning on God for strength, endurance, and peace. I trust that He will guide me through this dark valley; my only lingering question is when, Lord, will relief come?
