Beheira: Beheira Governorate in the Nile Delta is considered the first Egyptian governorate in terms of agricultural land area, which enables the visitor to the governorate to follow more than one element of rural tourism, most notably the harvest seasons, by watching farmers harvesting fruits and vegetables, in addition to enjoying the tranquility and serenity of the place. You can also enjoy viewing the “Edfina” Barrage, which reserves the waters of the Nile River, Rosetta Branch, from the waters of the Mediterranean Sea. It represents a tourist site and attraction, where vast gardens are spread, including five gardens on the left side of the arches, with an area of 25 acres, and the right side has two gardens built on ten acres. The visitor to the governorate should not miss getting acquainted with another aspect associated with rural life, represented by the mills for grinding grains. The lake contains two ancient mills. The first is the “Abu Shaheen” mill, built in the 18th century AD, which had wooden gears and was operated by animals, and the second is the windmill, which dates back to the 18th century AD. To the early 19th century during the era of Muhammad Ali, this mill is one of the remaining unique examples of windmills in the Delta region. Rural tourist resorts: The establishment of private tourist resorts or rest houses, which provide rural tourism services, has increased in recent years in Egypt, as a way to get away from the hustle and bustle of cities and away from the pressures of life.
